Concarneau<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

On the coast of Brittany’s Cornouaille<\/strong> region, Concarneau<\/strong> is just 15 km west of Pont-Aven. A town of art and history, this city overlooking the ocean is a magnet for visitors. Exploring the area is a must for holidaymakers staying in South Finist\u00e8re<\/a>. Concarneau is France’s third-largest fishing port and a popular holiday destination almost all year round. Concarneau, a fortified town in South Finist\u00e8re with many charms<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the land side, you’ll be seduced by the walled city and its fortifications. Like a link between the raging ocean and its fertile hinterland, a bridge leads to the medieval town<\/strong> that occupies the center of the harbor. The remarkably well-preserved remains take walkers back to the time of the knights, then of Vauban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside the fortified town, stroll through the narrow streets to admire some of Concarneau’s oldest homes. The program includes timber-framed and granite-gabled houses, ramparts punctuated by 9 towers, a visit to the Fishing Museum<\/strong> and panoramic views of the marina and fishing ports.
